Early Lead For Chardon Seals Fate For Wolverines
Wolverines watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 13-3 loss to Chardon on Saturday. Chardon scored on a double by Frank, a single by Maronde, and a double by Schreffler in the first inning.
The Wolverines struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Chardon, giving up 13 runs.
Chardon opened up scoring in the first inning, when Frank doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Chardon scored eight runs in the sixth inning. Chardon offense in the inning was led by Tyminski, Frank, Kirsh, Liebhardt, and McKnight, all driving in runs in the frame.
Schreffler was the winning pitcher for Chardon. The pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out four. Hall threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Max Dunbrook was on the hill for Wolverines. The pitcher surrendered five runs on five hits over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Ryan Garvey and Joe Carcelli entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three and two-thirds innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
Wolverines racked up seven hits. Ricky Platt and Danny Stewart each racked up multiple hits for Wolverines. Stewart and Platt all had two hits to lead Wolverines.
